The Central Region is where it all began in 1929, when Lola M. Parker, Harriet M. Robinson, Ophelia Harrison, Ethel T. Edwards, Mildred G. Hardin, Burdette Trigg and Marjorie Tindall established and Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Incorporated. These women laid the ground work for the future through their commitment to excellence in higher education and business. Together as one, they committed their lives to creating a fraternal organization for women who could lead their lives with honor and pride; where women could find support in reaching their goals in their chosen fields, particularly, business. Our founding sisters understood the meaning of unity based on a sense of community and sisterhood.
Today, Iota Phi Lambda sorority, Inc., has established itself through a relentless commitment to maintenance of the integrity of this sisterhood without compromise. As Regional Director, I seek to continue this pursuit of excellence in the Central Region. My desire is to enhance this opportunity that has been established by utilizing and learning from the experiences of our past while also building upon the strengths of our growing future.
